Mild steel handrails, fabricated to the run of the stair and finished with primer and paint. The straightforward choice where a rail has to be strong and correctly set out but does not need to be stainless.
Mild steel takes any colour, which is why it suits a rail that has to match joinery or an existing scheme. It does need repainting eventually, so it is the wrong answer in a wet or exposed position. That is what the stainless work is for.
