An HPL gate is a steel frame faced with High Pressure Laminate panels. The laminate is made under heat and pressure, so it does not soak up water, does not rot and does not need repainting the way a timber-faced gate does.
It is the practical way to get a timber look on a main gate in this climate. Finishes run from teak and walnut through to plain charcoal and grey, and the panel is what you see while the steel underneath does the work.
We fabricate the frame, so the gate is braced and hung properly before any panel goes on. A laminate face on a gate that sags is a laminate face that cracks at the joint.
